United We Stand, Divided We Fall

Events such as the recent attacks on and in Paris hit close to home for many of us because we realise that the innocent people who lost their lives, could have been any of us. We share so much common-ground that it's difficult not to feel alongside them and mourn such a tragedy. However, although the majority of us will never be able to relate or understand what other innocents, other human beings, with whom we might not share as much common-ground with, have to endure on their side of the world (for many, on a daily basis) we should at least make an effort to equally acknowledge it. We've got to remember that what's suddenly become so real to us, happening in our backyard, is the reality for so many who want no more than safety for themselves and their loved ones.

We're all just humans at the end of the day, being terrorised by monsters. The best we can do to fight against it is to acknowledge and support the world we live in, not just in regards to our our geographical placement and to remember that terrorism has no religion. "United we stand, divided we fall."
