First Day: Bella Italia

Afternoon :)
Cooking up a little late lunch with mama before we move out the remainder of her belongings and say goodbye to her wonderful little fat.

I was decently calm, but of course my nerves settled in as soon as I walked through the door.  How hard could it be waitressing in your second language, right?!  I had expected to "shadow" one of the other waitresses but no, no!! I was thrown right into it after receiving the biggest load of information regarding table numbers, guest placement, the things you should never EVER do and things you should always do without fail.  How to communicate with the kitchen, how to make the appetisers, whether everything and anything possibly was….My goodness!!

I worked 4 hours on my first day and I'm quite proud of how well I think it went.  Marie, the daughter of the owners who has worked there for 8 years was an absolute angel and took me well-under her wing, for which I am SO thankful.  I can't wait to go back and get into the routine of it all :)

It's a really cool experience for me to see Bella Italia in a completely new view--from a loyal customer, to trained waitress.  I feel like an insider ;)  I hope this all pans out well because although my entire body feels like it's been hit by a truck and when I returned to mummy's around 10 p.m. I actually wished my feet would just fall off, I had the best time!! The entire vibe in the place, although chaotic backstage, is so family-oriented regarding the customers and the workers alike.  My family has known the owners for, I believe, 3 generations now and both of my aunts have worked there when they were around my age so it's pretty surreal to be able to follow in their footsteps.

I'm a Bella girl now!
